MERCURY
MESSENGER: This car is like a blast from the past, lol. We talked
to a few Chevy lovers
out there who seriously feel- and we agree in full- that this could be
considered a modern Chevrolet
Corvette in its' Sting Ray form. Though we don't dig the lines that keep
crossing the headlight
and taillight clusters, we are just in love with the look. Mercury has
ceased production of the
Cougar, which we thought was pretty different. We have the most peculiar
feeling that Mercury
will bring back the Cougar in 2-3 years with this model, hopefully under
the same name.

MITSUBISHI
LANCER & ECLIPSE: This was a nice surprise- Mitsubishi brought
in the two vehicles
from the movie 2 Fast 2 Furious (see our
Autos In The Media presentation of the film!) Each was
really well designed and we send our congrats to whoever painted the
Eclipse.

PONTIAC
GTO: With a design based loosely on Australia's Holden vehicle,
the GTO should be a
very interesting experiment, as we found not many women cared for it at
the show (but then again,
not that many men did either, lol). We LOVE the Grand Prix and wonder if
this will have the smooth
style and appeal to the masses as the former did. Wait and see...

PORSCHE
911 & CAYENNE TURBO: Both are pretty cars, but we cannot
understand paying the
required $92,000 for a Cayenne Turbo! It's an SUV. Enough said.

SAAB:
This was the least visited display at the entire auto show. We
feel bad for SAAB, especially
since it could have- at the very least- copied some of Volvo's game plan
to succeed in the
automotive world. We give the company just 4 more years unless something
good happens soon.

TOYOTA
// SCION: This wacky thing makes us suddenly want a Honda
Element, lol. We're not
saying we don't like shoeboxes with wheels, but you gotta' wonder about
the popular excuse
some people give for buying cartons with rubber circles attached: "This
SUV is unique and I don't
have to buy what everyone else buys!" Why couldn't they stop with the
Aztek?- that's one too many.
