BMW to
revive high-performance M6
Germany's BMW AG, which unveiled its
all-new
M5 sedan at the
Geneva auto show, is already working on a companion model -- a
high-performance derivative of the new 6-series coupe that will
be called M6.
The M6 nameplate, which hasn't been used
since the mid-1990s, will return sometime in calendar year 2005.
The new car, which will be marketed as a 2006 model, is expected
to share the new 5.5-liter V-10 with the M5 sedan.

The nearest competitors to the M6 will be
the Aston Martin DB9, the Porsche 911 Carrera Turbo and the
Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG.
